Odisha FC secured a 3-1 victory over Hyderabad FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. This win sees Odisha FC climb to seventh in the standings with 29 points, just two points behind sixth-placed Mumbai City FC, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Hyderabad FC initially took the lead in the 30th minute, thanks to Stefan Sapic’s close-range goal following a well-worked set-piece involving Muhammed Rafi. The visitors were in control at halftime, but Odisha FC came out with a strong second-half performance to complete a dramatic turnaround.
The equalizer came early in the second half, with Mourtada Fall scoring a powerful header off a quick corner delivery from Hugo Boumous in the 47th minute. This sparked momentum for the home side, who quickly regained the lead in the 49th minute when Boumous himself placed a precise shot into the bottom-left corner after a brilliant assist from Jerry Mawihmingthanga.

In the 70th minute, Rahim Ali extended their lead with a stunning strike from a difficult angle after a brilliant run down the right flank, taking advantage of Hyderabad FC’s defensive lapse. Despite a late chance for Boumous in the 88th minute, who sent a shot wide, the home side comfortably held onto their lead to secure all three points.
