Astronomy fans will have a great time in October 2025 when a lot of celestial occurrences happen. There are a lot of things for stargazers to look forward to, like the beautiful Super Harvest Moon, several meteor showers, and the Moon getting close to planets.

If the sky is quite dark around midnight, you should be able to see the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), which is the closest galaxy to us.
The largest object in the Asteroid Belt, the Dwarf Planet Ceres, will appear brightly in the constellation Cetus.
Moon Meets Saturn and Neptune on October 5 and 6
The Moon will be almost full on these nights and will be only 3.3° away from Saturn, making for a beautiful match.
You should use binoculars or a telescope to see Neptune, which will also be close by.
The Super Harvest Moon is on October 6 and 7.
The Super Harvest Moon happens when the Moon is closest to Earth (perigee) and looks bigger and brighter.
At 03:48 GMT on October 7, the full phase will begin, and the evening sky will be lit up with a golden glow.
☄️ Draconid Meteor Shower: October 6–10, with the best view on October 8.
The Draconids will be at their best around October 8, when debris from Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner hits the Earth.
Meteors may still be visible, even if the moon is shining.
✨ The Moon is close to the Pleiades star cluster on October 10.
The Moon and the Pleiades (Messier 45) will be less than one degree apart in the sky at night.

In really dark skies, you might be able to see the Triangulum Galaxy without help.
You can see its unique spiral shape with a telescope or binoculars.
🌙 Moon and Venus close together; Mercury and Mars close together on October 19
The Moon will be less than 4° away from Venus in the sky before sunrise.
Mercury will also be close to Mars, making a unique planetary lineup.
Orionid Meteor Shower: October 20–21
The Orionids, which come from debris from Halley’s Comet, will peak with 15 to 20 meteors per hour.
The New Moon will make the skies gloomy, which is great for watching.
