NSE And BSE Announce Muhurat Trading 2025: Special Session On Oct. 21 To Be Held In Afternoon

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have made public the Muhurat trading schedule for this year’s Diwali celebrations. The circular that came out on September 22 said that the special one-hour trading window will happen on October 21 from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., not during the typical evening session.

The Muhurat session took place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in 2024. This year’s adjustment in time, on the other hand, was made to fit with the Kartika Amavasya Tithi, which starts at 3:44 p.m. on October 20 and concludes at 5:54 p.m. on October 21.

Schedule in detail:

Time for Block Deal: 1:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Session Before Opening: 1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Main Trading Session: 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Special Pre-Open (for IPOs and stocks that are being relisted): until 2:15 p.m.

After trading, the time for securities is 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

The last session is from 2:55 to 3:05 p.m.

Trade changes are allowed until 3:15 p.m.

Every year on Diwali, which is the commencement of the Hindu New Year, the Muhurat trade session takes place. This year, it will be Samvat 2082.

During the one-hour session, investors will be able to buy and sell stocks, options, currencies, and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB). Other exchanges are likely to put out similar timetables in response to NSE’s announcement.

For many people who trade, this time of year is more than simply a symbol; it’s a chance to bring good luck and wealth for the coming year. All deals that are done will go through the normal settlement process.
