Chennai, July 11: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Friday sharply criticised foreign media for their “biased” reporting of Operation Sindoor, challenging them to show even a single image of Indian infrastructure being damaged by Pakistani strikes.
Speaking at the 62nd convocation of IIT Madras, Doval questioned the credibility of international outlets that amplified Pakistan’s version of events without evidence.
“Foreign press said ‘Pakistan did this and that’. You tell me one image that shows any damage to India—not even a broken glass pane,” Doval said, asserting that only images of damage to Pakistani airbases were available, including Sargodha, Chaklala, and Rahim Yar Khan.
🔸 Operation Sindoor: What Happened?
- Conducted on the night of May 9–10, the Indian Air Force launched a retaliatory precision strike following the Pahalgam terror attack.
- 15 BrahMos missiles were fired at Pakistani airbases, successfully disabling Chinese-supported air defence systems.
- The mission targeted nine terror hubs deep inside Pakistan and PoK, lasting just 23 minutes, according to Doval.
🔸 Key Indigenous Tech Involved
Ajit Doval praised India’s defence sector, stating that:
- BrahMos missiles
- Integrated Air Command & Control Systems
- Indian radars
- Akash SAM air defence system
… all played pivotal roles in crippling Pakistan’s capabilities and stopping drone threats.
“We hit exactly where we intended. Not border zones, but deeply embedded terror targets,” Doval said.
🔸 Ceasefire and Aftermath
Following Pakistan’s retaliatory attempt, Indian forces damaged key Pakistani airbases, including Nur Khan Air Base.
Eventually, a mutual ceasefire was agreed upon by DGMOs of both nations.
🔸 On the Future: AI as National Priority
Doval also stressed the importance of Artificial Intelligence:
“AI is a game-changer. If India wants to lead the world, this must be a national focus—not just in defence, but across medicine, finance, robotics, and governance.”
