Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Noor Ahmad was left in awe after witnessing an “out of the world” stumping by MS Dhoni during their match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2025.
The Chepauk crowd erupted as Dhoni showcased his lightning-fast reflexes behind the stumps, playing a key role in CSK’s four-wicket win over their arch-rivals.
Dhoni’s Stunning Stumping of Suryakumar Yadav
During the 11th over of MI’s innings, stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav stepped out to play a big shot but failed to pick Noor Ahmad’s delivery.
Before he could react, Dhoni swiftly removed the bails, dismissing him for 29 (26 balls) in a moment of pure wicket keeping brilliance.
“The focus was to land the ball in the right area, and Surya’s wicket was special, and the stumping from MSD was out of the world. It feels great to have someone like Mahi bhai behind the stumps; it is a great support for me,” Noor said in the post-match presentation.
Noor Ahmad’s Match-Winning Spell
Noor Ahmad justified his ₹10 crore price tag with a brilliant spell of 4/18, turning the game in CSK’s favor.
His deceptive wrist spin kept MI’s batters in check, earning him the Player of the Match award.
“It feels special to play here in the IPL. Happy for the team and happy with the contribution,” Noor said about his performance.
Noor’s spell dismantled MI’s batting lineup, restricting them to 155/9.
