Noida’s Jewar Airport Set For October 30 Inauguration, Flights To 10 Cities To Follow

The long-awaited Jewar Airport, also known as Noida International Airport, is finally going to open. K Ram Mohan Naidu, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, said on Wednesday that the airport will open on October 30.

This is a big step forward for the project, which has been in the works for years. After the opening, the airport will start flying to ten major Indian cities in just 45 days. People will soon be able to fly to and from major cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

Minister Naidu said that talks have already taken place with major airlines, IndiGo and Air India Express, to start these important flying services. When the airport is completely up and running, its official call sign will be “DXN.”

The new airport is meant to be a hub for connections, and there are big plans for infrastructure to support it. There will be six main roads and a fast rail and metro system that connect it. There are also plans for a pod taxi service to make sure that passengers can get around easily.

The airport has already been put through important tests to get ready for its opening. On December 9, a commercial plane successfully landed on the runway, confirming that it was ready for air traffic. This was a big step forward.

For months, officials have been getting ready for the airport to open. In July, builders and local governments were told that any new construction within 20 miles of the airport must follow tight height regulations to keep flights safe.

Minister Naidu made two more major announcements besides the news of the Jewar airport. He said that the Hindon airport in Ghaziabad will be bigger, and the Uttar Pradesh government has been asked for nine acres of land to make this happen. The goal of the enlargement is to make the parking lot bigger so that more people can park there.

Lastly, the Union Minister said that all airports in the country will have free Wi-Fi within the next two months as part of a commitment to improve the experience of travelers across the country. Also, libraries will soon be open at airports, which will make traveling even easier.
