Nitish Kumar Backs PM Modi’s Leadership After Operation Sindoor; Praises Armed Forces for Retaliation Against Pahalgam Attack

Patna (Bihar) [India]: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed full support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and lauded the Indian Army following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Nitish Kumar wrote, “The whole country is united against terrorism. The whole country is proud of the courage and valour of the Indian Army. We all have unwavering faith and pride in the leadership of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”

The operation was a direct response to the brutal terror strike in Pahalgam, which drew nationwide outrage. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed that nine terror camps were destroyed with precision targeting to avoid civilian casualties. “The locations were selected to prevent damage to civilians and infrastructure,” she added.

During a media briefing, Col Sofiya Qureshi presented videos confirming the destruction of camps in Muridke, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, and Kotli, which are known hubs for terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Key sites included:

  • Sarjal camp (Sialkot): Training site for terrorists involved in the March 2025 killing of J&K police personnel.
  • Mehmoona Joya camp (Sialkot): Located 12–18 km inside Pakistan.
  • Markaz Taiba (Muridke): Training ground for 2008 Mumbai attackers, including Ajmal Kasab and David Headley.
  • Markaz Subhanallah (Bahawalpur): Jaish-e-Mohammed’s HQ, located 100 km inside Pakistan.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described the Pahalgam attack as a deliberate attempt to derail peace efforts in Kashmir. “Victims were executed with headshots at close range, often in front of family members, to spread maximum psychological trauma,” he said, underscoring the calculated cruelty of the strike.

He reaffirmed that India’s response was “measured, focused, and non-escalatory”, aimed solely at dismantling terror infrastructure with no Pakistani military sites targeted.
