Nishadraj Park And Tent City To Boost Religious Tourism In UP Ahead Of Mahakumbh-2025

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): Nishadraj Park, located in Shringverpur Dham, a town associated with Lord Ram’s exile journey, is nearing completion and is set to be inaugurated soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh.

The development of Nishadraj Park, a key initiative to enhance rural, religious, and spiritual tourism in Uttar Pradesh, is progressing in two phases. A 52-foot-high statue of Lord Rama embracing Nishadraj has been installed at the site, underscoring its cultural significance.

“It is said that Lord Rama spent a night at Shringverpur Dham during his exile. We are developing Uttar Pradesh as a religious tourism destination. Nishadraj Park is being developed, and 90 per cent of the construction has been completed,” Aparajita Singh stated.

The first phase includes the construction of a pedestal, gallery, and parking area, while the second phase features a meditation center, caretaker room, cafeteria, children’s play area, and an open-air theater.

Tent City for Mahakumbh-2025

Additionally, Prayagraj is preparing to accommodate the anticipated 45 crore visitors during Mahakumbh-2025. A sprawling tent city featuring 2000 tents is being developed under the supervision of the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) in collaboration with six partners, including Aagaman and Kumbh Camp India.

Speaking to ANI, Vivek Chaturvedi, Additional District Magistrate of Prayagraj, said:

“Our tent city will have 2000 tents, with another 400 tents in different sectors. These will offer five-star hotel-like facilities, and people can book these accommodations for a comfortable stay.”

The tents will be categorized into Villa, Maharaja, Swiss Cottage, and Dormitory, with prices ranging from ₹1,500 to ₹35,000 per day, plus additional charges for extra guests (excluding dormitories).

The project aims to provide world-class accommodations operational between January 1 and March 5. Bookings will be available through the UPSTDC website and the Mahakumbh app.

This initiative aligns with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to establish Uttar Pradesh as a prominent destination for religious tourism.
