In a major breakthrough in the Delhi car blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a Kashmiri resident accused of conspiring with suspected suicide bomber Dr. Umar Un Nabi to execute the deadly attack near the Red Fort on November 10. The blast, carried out using an explosives-laden Hyundai i20, claimed 10 lives.
Ali was taken into custody in Delhi. The vehicle used in the attack was registered in his name, and investigators say he travelled to the capital specifically to help arrange the purchase of the car later used in the crime.
According to an official NIA statement, Ali, a resident of Samboora in Pampore, Jammu & Kashmir, played a key role in planning the attack along with Umar Un Nabi. A forensic investigation conducted by the agency confirmed the identity of the deceased driver as Umar Un Nabi, who was an assistant professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad and hailed from Pulwama district.
The arrest marks a significant advance in the ongoing probe, with the NIA continuing to track additional links and unravel the full network behind the terror operation.
