TEL AVIV – Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, made a forceful and threatening declaration on Sunday that Israel will strike back against anyone who attacks the country. He said this after seeing Israeli Air Force bombings on Houthi rebels in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.
“We will attack anyone who attacks us. Netanyahu declared in a Hebrew video statement, “We attack anyone who plans to attack us.” “I believe that the whole region is learning about Israel’s strength and willpower…” The Houthi terrorist regime is learning the hard way that its attacks on Israel will cost it a lot of money.
The Israeli military has stated that its troops attacked multiple Houthi military infrastructure locations in Sanaa, including a military facility that has the presidential palace, two power plants, and a fuel depot. Defense Minister Israel Katz went even farther, saying that Israel had “destroyed the Houthi presidential palace in Yemen.” This allegation has not been backed up by other evidence. Katz also claimed that the Houthis will “pay many times over” for every missile they fire at Israel.
The operations were a direct retaliation to a ballistic missile attack by the Houthis against Israel on Friday. An examination by the Israeli Air Force into that incident discovered that the missile had a cluster bomb warhead. An official called this a “new threat” and a hint of “additional technology provided to the Houthis by Iran.”
Houthi-controlled media say that at least six people died and others were hurt in the attacks on Sanaa. Pictures from the event showed big fireballs and clouds of smoke billowing over the city.
The continued confrontation between Israel and the Houthis, who have been firing missiles and drones at Israel since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, has made people worried that the violence could spread to other countries in the region. The Houthis, who are allied with Iran, say that their attacks are meant to show support for the people of Gaza.
