Netanyahu Prays At Western Wall For IDF, Hostages In Gaza, And US President Trump

Tel Aviv [Israel], June 23: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accompanied by his wife Sara Netanyahu, visited the Western Wall (Kotel) in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, June 22, 2025. During the visit, the couple offered prayers for the wellbeing of IDF soldiers, Israeli security forces, and hostages held in Gaza, amid ongoing regional tensions.

Netanyahu also recited a special prayer for US President Donald Trump, praising him for his support during Israel’s recent military operations in Iran. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Trump has provided “important assistance in defending Israel’s cities” and “stood alongside the State of Israel in its forceful operations.”

Following tradition, Netanyahu placed a handwritten note in the crevices of the Western Wall. The note read:
“A people has risen up as a lion – Am Yisrael Chai!” (Long Live the Nation of Israel.)

The visit comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tension, following Israel’s strikes on Iranian targets and an intensifying conflict involving hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. The symbolic gesture at Judaism’s holiest site underlines Netanyahu’s continued emphasis on national unity, spiritual strength, and international alliances, particularly with the United States.
