Third-year BSc student jumps from college building; police investigate mental health concerns
Indore, March 9 – A third-year BSc student allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the third floor of his college building in Dwarkapuri, Indore, on Saturday, police confirmed.
Authorities suspect that the mental state of the student, identified as Mayur Rajput, may have been disturbed, citing a social media status he posted before the incident.
“He had posted something on social media, stating that he neither could become a good student nor a good son. This suggests he was in emotional distress,” said Additional DCP Zone 4, Anand Yadav.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the reasons behind his extreme step.
“We are in touch with his family to understand his state of mind. Once all discussions are completed, more clarity will emerge,” Yadav added.
The 19-20-year-old student’s death has raised concerns over mental health awareness among students, and authorities are urging families and educational institutions to prioritize mental well-being.
