Zeeshan Siddique, son of late NCP leader Baba Siddique, has received a chilling death threat via email that also carried a Rs 10 crore extortion demand, police officials confirmed on Monday.
According to law enforcement, the email stated that Zeeshan would be killed in the same manner as his father, who was shot dead by assailants in October 2024. The sender warned that similar emails would be sent every six hours, escalating concern within the Siddique family and among party members.
Zeeshan Siddique Alleges D Company Threat
Speaking to media, Siddique made a serious allegation:
“I got a threat via mail from D Company, as mentioned at the end of the mail. They demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore. The police have taken the details and recorded my statement. Our family is disturbed because of this.”
Police say an investigation is underway, and cyber experts have been roped in to trace the origin of the threatening email.
Background: Baba Siddique’s Murder
Zeeshan’s father, Baba Siddique, a veteran NCP leader, was gunned down near Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar on October 12, 2024. The murder was later claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, further intensifying concerns over political figures being targeted by organised crime syndicates.
In the months following the murder, Mumbai Police arrested Akashdeep Gill, a key suspect, from Punjab. He allegedly coordinated logistics for the murder and used a labourer’s mobile hotspot to stay under the radar while communicating with mastermind Anmol Bishnoi.
This fresh threat has triggered alarm across political circles, particularly as Mumbai grapples with increasing threats from organised criminal networks. Security around Zeeshan Siddique has been heightened.
