Los Angeles [US], February 20: NBC has officially renewed Happy’s Place for a second season, with the series getting the green light for further expansion. The show, starring Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman, has been performing well in its Friday-night time slot, averaging 3.38 million same-day viewers and showing a significant year-on-year improvement of 54%. The renewal includes an order for five additional episodes, bringing the total number of episodes for the current season to 18.
In Happy’s Place, McEntire plays Bobbie, who inherits her late father’s tavern, “Happy’s Place,” and unexpectedly finds herself with a new business partner, Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo), a half-sister she never knew existed. Other cast members include Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn.
Created by Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott, Happy’s Place joins St. Denis Medical, another first-year comedy, as part of NBC’s lineup for the 2025-26 season. Kevin Abbott serves as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Reba McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry, and Pamela Fryman.
