📜 About Mahavir Jayanti:
Mahavir Jayanti commemorates the birth of Lord Mahavir, born as Vardhamana in 615 BC into a royal family. He renounced worldly life in pursuit of spiritual awakening and laid the foundation for Jainism’s core principles: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (celibacy), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness).
Observed according to the Mahavir Samvat, the festival holds deep spiritual and cultural significance, especially in India. With increasing global relevance, Lord Mahavir’s teachings on peace, self-restraint, and harmony continue to inspire across generations and borders.
