WASHINGTON, D.C. – An old tweet by Elon Musk concerning Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein has resurfaced, gaining traction after recent reports from media and The Wall Street Journal confirmed that Trump’s name appeared in the infamous Epstein files. On Wednesday, both news outlets cited sources stating that Attorney General Pam Bondi had briefed the President in May on the Justice Department’s review of these documents, informing him of the mentions.
According to the CNN report, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche was also present during this “routine briefing,” which covered the scope of the DOJ’s findings. They informed the White House that the controversial files did indeed contain Trump’s name.
A White House official commented on the revelation, stating to CNN, “The White House is not surprised by this – Trump’s name was present in the binders that Bondi produced and handed out. The White House does not view this as groundbreaking or new or surprising at all.” Officials also stressed that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by the President related to the files.
This development follows days after the Wall Street Journal reported on alleged “bawdy” birthday letters Trump purportedly wrote to Epstein on the convicted sex financier and pedophile’s 50th birthday in 2003. White House communications director Steven Cheung previously dismissed such reports, stating, “The fact is that the President kicked him out of his club for being a creep. This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media, just like the Obama Russiagate scandal, which President Trump was right about.”
‘Musk Was Right’: Resurfacing of a Deleted Tweet
The recent confirmation by the DOJ and the White House has led to a flurry of activity on social media, with several influencers, including notable MAGA supporters, recirculating an old tweet by Elon Musk regarding Trump’s presence in the Epstein files.
Weeks ago, amidst a public feud with President Trump over the “Big Beautiful Bill,” Musk had posted an explosive tweet: “Time to drop the massive bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, however, subsequently deleted this controversial post days after making the claims, leading to speculation about the reasons behind its removal. Despite deleting the tweet, Musk recently defended Trump following the WSJ’s report about the alleged birthday letter, commenting, “It really doesn’t sound like something Trump would say tbh.”
The White House’s current position is that the mentions of Trump in the Epstein files amount to “unverified hearsay,” and that many other high-profile figures also appear in the documents. The DOJ had previously indicated that no further public disclosures from the Epstein files would occur, citing the presence of child pornography and victims’ personal information.
