Mumbai Police Crime Branch Investigates Saif Ali Khan’s Residence Following Intruder Attack

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 16: Actor Saif Ali Khan was injured in a scuffle with an intruder at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, late Wednesday night. The incident prompted an immediate response from Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch, who arrived at the scene to investigate.

The attack occurred at the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building, where Khan resides. According to police reports, the intruder initially confronted the actor’s maid, and when Saif Ali Khan attempted to intervene and resolve the situation, the intruder became aggressive, leading to a physical altercation. Khan sustained injuries during the scuffle.

A statement from Saif Ali Khan’s PR team confirmed the attack, describing it as an attempted burglary. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently undergoing surgery at the hospital. We request the media and fans to be patient as this is a police matter,” the message read.

Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam said, “The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is receiving treatment. An investigation is ongoing.”

Khan was taken to Lilavati Hospital for medical attention, where he is currently under observation following surgery. His condition remains stable.

The attack has sparked concern among fellow celebrities. Actress Pooja Bhatt took to social media to express her worries, urging Mumbai Police to enhance security in Bandra. “Can this lawlessness please be curbed @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice We need more police presence in Bandra. The city, and especially the queen of the suburbs, has never felt so unsafe before,” she wrote.

Chef Kunal Kapoor also shared his shock on Instagram, posting, “Stunned to hear about the attack on Saif. Praying for his speedy recovery. #saif #saifalikhan.”

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Devara Part 1, an action-packed film released in September 2024, alongside Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. He is also set to appear in the upcoming heist thriller Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter, where he will engage in a tense battle with Jaideep Ahlawat’s character.
