Several schools in Delhi and Noida received bomb threats via email on Friday morning, prompting swift action from the police and security agencies. Investigations are currently underway, and Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) are being followed to ensure safety.
Delhi Schools Targeted
One of the affected institutions, Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar-1, alerted Pandav Nagar police station after receiving a threatening email. According to police reports, the information was received at 6:40 AM, following which the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was deployed for a thorough search of the premises. However, no suspicious objects were found.
The school administration immediately informed parents about the security threat and decided to shift classes online for the day.
A concerned parent told ANI:
“The school administration said that classes will run online today. They didn’t share details, but I believe it’s due to the bomb threat.”
St. Stephen’s College in North Delhi was also among the institutions that received a similar threat. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North District, confirmed that an email warning of a bomb threat was received at 7:42 AM. The Bomb Detection Team (BDT) was dispatched to inspect the campus.
Noida Schools Also Under Threat
Shiv Nadar School in Noida was another target of the email threats. Following the alert, Noida police, bomb squad, fire brigade, dog squad, and BDDS teams conducted thorough searches of the school premises.
Noida Police issued a statement urging calm:
“Senior police officers are present on the spot. The cyber team is investigating the email. The public is requested not to pay heed to rumors and maintain patience.”
Previous Hoax Threats in Delhi Schools
Earlier, Delhi Police cracked down on a series of hoax bomb threats sent to over 400 schools, leading to the arrest of a juvenile responsible for the emails.
The accused, a public school student, was identified after an in-depth technical investigation by the Cyber Cell of the South District Police. Authorities recovered a laptop and two mobile phones, which contained digital evidence linking him to the threats.
The juvenile used encrypted email services to avoid detection but was eventually traced using advanced cyber forensic methods.
On January 8, 2025, 23 schools in Delhi had received similar bomb threats, causing mass panic, school closures, and disruption of academic activities.
Ongoing Investigation
The cybercrime unit is now analyzing the latest threats to determine if they are linked to previous incidents. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant but not panic.
