The argument about who would wear the famous cape in the next Shaktimaan movie has gotten even more heated. The original superhero Mukesh Khanna has made it obvious that he does not agree with the studio’s suspected pick. Khanna recently gave Ranveer Singh a harsh review in an interview, saying that his real-life image and lively personality make him a bad option for the part.
A fan asked Mukesh Khanna if he would let Ranveer Singh become India’s first superhero on screen. The renowned actor, on the other hand, stood his position.
“You can’t make me change my mind. You like Ranveer Singh, and I do too… But I’ve told him to his face, “You can play Tamraj Kilvish, the bad guy in the story.”
Khanna went into more detail about why he thought this way, saying that becoming a superhero takes more than simply acting skills. “He has a mischievous smile on his face… you need someone grown up enough to play Shaktimaan,” he remarked. Khanna also said that an actor’s real-life image is important. “Many people tell me about Ranveer Singh,” he said. “Sir, please don’t make this druggie Shaktimaan; our childhood memories will be ruined.”
Khanna has said he had doubts about this before. He has said before that Ranveer Singh sat with him for three hours to try to get him to take the part. Khanna, on the other hand, has stuck to his guns and said that the character’s essential ideals will not be compromised. Basil Joseph, the director of the movie, has indicated that “no one else is doing Shaktimaan, it is Ranveer Singh and no one else,” although the formal casting has not yet been made public.
Mukesh Khanna’s first show, which aired on Doordarshan from 1997 until 2005, saw him as both Shaktimaan and his clumsy alter ego, Gangadhar. The show became a cultural sensation, and the movie version is one of the most awaited projects in Bollywood. Ranveer Singh’s latest movie was Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. He will act in the forthcoming movie Dhurandhar, which comes out on December 5.
