Actress Mrunal Thakur has once again addressed rumours linking her to South superstar Dhanush, even as fresh reports of a supposed February 14 wedding failed to materialise. While dismissing speculation about a relationship, the actress openly expressed admiration for the National Award-winning star and shared her wish to collaborate with him professionally.
Recent buzz had suggested that the two were set to tie the knot in a private ceremony on Valentine’s Day. However, with no wedding taking place, it became evident that the claims were unfounded.
“He’s Such An Institution”
In a recent interaction with Mirchi Plus, Mrunal spoke highly of Dhanush’s body of work, calling herself a “big fan.” She praised several of his films, including Raayan, Maari, Raanjhanaa, Captain Miller and Asuran.
“He’s such an institution,” she said, applauding not just his acting but also his ability to elevate performances from co-stars. Mrunal further described him as a “fantastic” lyricist, singer, dancer and director, highlighting his multi-faceted talent.
Clarifies Premiere Appearance
The rumours had initially gained traction after Dhanush attended the Mumbai premiere of her film Son of Sardaar 2. Clarifying the situation, Mrunal explained that Dhanush was already in the city shooting for Tere Ishk Mein when she casually invited him to the screening, not expecting him to actually attend.
“I was so happy,” she shared, describing his presence as a sweet gesture. “I really wish to work with him one day,” she added.
On The Work Front
Mrunal’s latest release, Do Deewane Seher Mein, hit theatres on February 20. The film stars Siddhant Chaturvedi alongside her in the lead role.
Despite ongoing speculation, Mrunal has consistently maintained that there is no romantic involvement, choosing instead to focus on her career and future collaborations.
