Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Key Projects Ahead Of Simhastha 2028

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India]: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, convened on Thursday at Mantralaya, approving several key decisions, including a ₹778.92 crore project for developing a 29.2 km-long ghat along the Kshipra River in preparation for the upcoming Simhastha 2028, a major Hindu religious festival.

Key Approvals

  1. Kshipra River Development for Simhastha 2028
    • Construction of ghats spanning 29.215 km, from Shani Mandir to Nagda Bypass, at a cost of ₹778.92 crore.
    • Project aimed at facilitating millions of devotees expected to attend the festival.
  2. River Linking Projects
    • Gratitude was expressed to the Prime Minister for the approval of two major river linking initiatives:
      • Ken-Betwa Link Project
      • Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project
    • The Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal project, with an estimated cost of ₹28,798.02 crore, will irrigate 4.73 lakh hectares across 10 districts in the Malwa and Chambal regions.
  3. Atal Gramin Seva Sadan
    • Establishment of Atal Gramin Seva Sadan in all panchayats to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
    • These centers will address villagers’ grievances and provide access to government schemes.
  4. Birth and Death Registration Rules, 2024
    • Approval of revised rules aligning with guidelines from the Registrar General of India.
    • Updates to sections of the Madhya Pradesh Birth and Death Registration Rules, 1999.
  5. Solar-Powered Feeder Energization
    • Implementation of solar energy solutions for 11 KV feeders to improve electricity supply for farmers.
    • Aims to reduce transformer overloading, low voltage issues, and power cuts.
  6. Dharti Aaba-Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA)
    • In-principle approval for the DAJGUA scheme, focused on saturating tribal areas with benefits from multiple government schemes, including education, healthcare, energy, and agricultural development.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya highlighted the significance of these projects, emphasizing:

  • The Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river link projects as transformative irrigation initiatives benefiting farmers.
  • A vision to make Madhya Pradesh 100% irrigated in the near future.

The Cabinet’s decisions reflect a strategic focus on infrastructure development, welfare initiatives, and preparations for one of the state’s most significant cultural events, Simhastha 2028, while addressing the broader developmental needs of rural and tribal communities.
