ENTERPRISE, AL – The Enterprise Police Department has shifted its investigation from a simple missing person case to a potential criminal matter. Adrianne Reid, who reported her daughter missing at 3:00 AM on Monday, is currently being held without bond at the Coffee County Jail on charges of misreporting an incident.
Investigators determined through interviews and evidence that Genesis had not been seen by anyone other than her mother for several weeks, contradicting Adrianne’s initial timeline.
Wednesday Search Developments
During a 4:30 PM briefing on Wednesday, February 18, Police Chief Michael Moore and District Attorney James Tarbox provided grim updates:
- K9 Deployment: Specialized cadaver dogs were deployed to search the perimeter and interior of the home where Genesis lived with her mother.
- The Mother’s Role: DA James Tarbox stated bluntly, “Adrienne Reid is the only person who knows where Genesis Reid is.”
- The Objective: Chief Moore emphasized that despite the mother’s arrest, the mission remains “to locate Genesis and bring her home.”
Search for “Moriah”
Authorities have identified a person of interest named “Moriah,” described as a Black female. While she has not been named a suspect, police believe she possesses “key information” regarding the child’s whereabouts or what happened during the weeks Genesis was missing from public view.
Person of Interest Description:
- Name: Moriah
- Status: Person of Interest (Not a suspect)
- Connection: Potential witness to the events leading up to the disappearance.
Community Impact
The Enterprise community has been on high alert since the Monday morning “Missing Child” alert. With the revelation that the child had been missing much longer than initially reported, local law enforcement is retracing weeks of activity surrounding the Reid household.
As of Thursday morning, Adrianne Reid remains the sole suspect in the investigation.
