Moron Protests Erupt Again Amid Blackouts; Donald Trump Sparks Tension with Remarks

Fresh anti-government protests have erupted in Moron, as widespread blackouts and economic hardship fuel public anger against the Communist Party of Cuba. The unrest, reportedly triggered by energy shortages linked to the United States embargo, turned violent after initially peaceful demonstrations.

Protesters stormed a local party office, setting parts of it on fire and clashing with authorities. At least 14 people were detained, while visuals showed crowds chanting for “liberty.” The city had also witnessed major unrest during the 2021 Cuba protests, the largest since the Cuban Revolution led by Fidel Castro.

Activist Yoani Sanchez claimed she was confined to her home by security personnel, highlighting the crackdown on dissent. Meanwhile, President Miguel Diaz-Canel acknowledged public frustration but warned against violence.

Adding to tensions, Donald Trump made controversial remarks suggesting he could take strong action against Cuba, further escalating geopolitical concerns.
