Kochi: Monalisa Bhosle, who gained viral fame during the Kumbh Mela, has accused filmmaker Sanoj Mishra of assault and inappropriate behaviour during the shooting of his film The Diary of Manipur.
Speaking at a press conference in Kochi alongside her husband Farman Khan, Monalisa detailed her allegations and said she is facing serious threats.
Allegations of Misconduct During Shoot
According to Monalisa, the alleged incidents took place during filming in Nepal and Dehradun.
She claimed that Mishra behaved inappropriately on multiple occasions:
“Sanoj Mishra is not a good person. He misbehaved with me on the sets several times. He grabbed me,” she said.
She further alleged that she informed her family about the incidents but did not receive support.
Claims of Exploitation and Coercion
Monalisa also accused the filmmaker of exploiting aspiring actors:
“He uses the name of films to talk to young girls… and makes false promises of giving them roles,” she alleged.
These claims have not yet been independently verified, and no official response from Sanoj Mishra has been reported so far.
Why No Police Complaint Earlier
Addressing why she did not immediately file a complaint, Monalisa said her family discouraged her:
“I was going to complain, but my family stopped me… What could I do there?”
She also appealed to authorities for protection, claiming that she and her husband are receiving threats.
Threat Allegations and Personal Life Controversy
Monalisa further alleged that the filmmaker is interfering in her personal life and spreading misinformation regarding her marriage to Farman Khan.
She claimed that:
- They are receiving death threats
- Posters related to them are being burnt publicly
- False narratives are being circulated about her husband
“Is loving a crime?” she questioned during the press conference.
No Official Confirmation Yet
As of now:
- No official police complaint has been publicly confirmed
- The allegations remain one-sided
- Authorities have not issued a formal statement
The situation is still developing, and further verification is awaited.
