PM Modi Leaves For US After “Productive Visit” To France

Paris [France]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his three-day historic and productive visit to France, marking a significant step in strengthening India-France relations. In a special gesture, French President Emmanuel Macron personally came to the airport to see off PM Modi, and the two leaders exchanged a warm hug.

Highlights of PM Modi’s Visit to France

PM Modi’s visit was packed with engagements across diverse fields, including AI, commerce, energy, and cultural linkages. Sharing his gratitude, he posted on X:
“Thank you, France! A productive visit concludes, where I attended programmes ranging from AI, commerce, energy, and cultural linkages. Gratitude to President @EmmanuelMacron and the people of France.”

Key moments from his visit included:
Co-chairing the AI Action Summit with world leaders and global tech CEOs.
Reviewing the 2047 Horizon Roadmap with President Macron to deepen India-France strategic partnership.
Inaugurating the first Indian Consulate in France in the historic city of Marseille.
Visiting the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Project, where India is a key partner.
Paying tribute to Indian soldiers who fought in World Wars I and II at the Mazargues War Cemetery.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the significance of the visit, stating:
“A historic visit to France in the ancient city of Marseille concludes. In a special gesture, President @EmmanuelMacron came to see off PM @narendramodi at the airport.”


Next Stop: United States

After wrapping up his visit to France, PM Modi has now departed for Washington, DC, for the second leg of his two-nation tour. This will be his first official visit to the US since Donald Trump’s second presidential term began.

Ahead of the visit, PM Modi emphasized the importance of India-US relations:
“Although this will be our first meeting following his historic electoral victory and inauguration in January, I have a very warm recollection of working together in his first term in building a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the US.”

He added:
“This visit will be an opportunity to build upon the successes of our collaboration in his first term and develop an agenda to further elevate and deepen our partnership, including in the areas of technology, trade, defence, energy, and supply chain resilience.”

With major discussions lined up, India and the US are expected to explore new avenues for strategic collaboration, shaping the future of global partnerships.
