Miss World 2024 Contestants Embark on Heritage Tour in Hyderabad with Charminar Walk, Laad Bazaar Visit, and Cultural Evening

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 13: As part of the ongoing Miss World 2024 festivities in Hyderabad, 109 contestants from around the world will participate in a grand Heritage Walk at the iconic Charminar on Tuesday, celebrating the city’s cultural richness and historical legacy.

According to a press note from Telangana’s Information and Public Relations Department (I&PR), the contestants will arrive in four specially arranged buses and will be greeted with a traditional welcome featuring the vibrant Marfa music, a hallmark of the Old City.

A special photo shoot has been planned at Charminar, capturing the contestants against the backdrop of the famed monument. Following this, the group will explore the bustling Laad Bazaar (Chudi Bazaar), where they will experience a curated shopping tour through nine renowned stores specializing in Hyderabad’s signature bangles, pearls, and ornaments. The participating stores include Hyderabad Bangles, Mujeeb Bangles, Kanhaiyalal, Motilal Karwa, Gokuldas Zariwala, K.R. Kasat, Jaju Pearls, A.H. Zariwala, and Afzal Miya Karchobwale.

The Miss World delegates will also witness live demonstrations of traditional bangle-making, offering insight into Hyderabad’s artisanal craftsmanship.

The day’s events will culminate with a grand cultural evening at the historic Chowmahalla Palace. Highlights include a mehendi ceremony and an opportunity for contestants to dress in regal Nizami attire. Additionally, curated films showcasing Telangana’s diverse tourism destinations and rich cultural heritage will be screened.

The contestants will also tour the palace’s Nizam-era exhibits, which feature ancient weaponry, royal artifacts, and household items—offering an immersive experience into Hyderabad’s royal and cultural history.

Officials from multiple government departments have coordinated extensive arrangements to ensure the success and elegance of this internationally significant event.

Meanwhile, contestants representing the Asian and Oceanic regions celebrated Buddha Purnima on Monday with a spiritual and cultural visit to Buddhavanam, a renowned Buddhist heritage site in Nagarjunasagar, Nalgonda district. The itinerary included a brief stop at a guest house near Chintapalli and a scenic photo session at Vijay Vihar, overlooking the Nagarjunasagar reservoir—highlighting the spiritual depth and natural beauty of Telangana.
