New Delhi (India), February 16: The Ministry of Ayush has opened the nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards, which will be presented as part of the 2025 edition of the International Day of Yoga (IDY2025). These awards honor individuals and organizations that have made remarkable and lasting contributions to the promotion and development of Yoga on both national and international levels.
The Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards aim to acknowledge the significant role of Yoga in disease prevention, health promotion, and managing lifestyle-related disorders. They recognize exemplary contributions that demonstrate Yoga’s profound impact on society. Endorsed personally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the awards serve as a testament to the government’s commitment to celebrating and acknowledging the invaluable contributions made towards the growth and propagation of Yoga.
The awards will be presented in four categories: National Individual, National Organization, International Individual, and International Organization. Winners in each category will receive a trophy, a certificate, and a cash award of Rs 25 lakh.
To be eligible for the award, individual applicants must be at least 40 years old and have a minimum of 20 years of dedicated service in Yoga promotion. Nominations and applications can be submitted via the MyGov platform (https://innovateindia.mygov.in/pm-yoga-awards-2025/) by March 31, 2025. The link will also be available on the Ministry of Ayush’s website and its autonomous bodies’ sites.
Applicants can only apply for one category (National or International) each year. A screening committee will review all applications and recommend up to 50 names per award category to the evaluation jury, which will consist of eminent personalities from various fields. The jury will make the final decisions.
The Ministry of Ayush continues to promote traditional medicine and wellness systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy, aiming to integrate these practices into the healthcare system for the holistic well-being of individuals and communities.
