Washington [US]: Actor and comedian Mike Myers made a surprise appearance during the season 50 finale of ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL), hosted by Scarlett Johansson and featuring musical guest Bad Bunny. The sketch was later uploaded to SNL’s official YouTube channel, delighting fans worldwide.
Myers, a former cast member of SNL, played himself in a hilarious and increasingly awkward elevator sketch. He appeared alongside Kenan Thompson, who portrayed a fictionalized and controversial version of Kanye West.
The sketch opens with Myers entering an elevator with Johansson and Marcello Hernandez, both playing eager fans. The cheerful mood quickly shifts when Thompson’s Kanye West steps in, bringing up his history of controversial statements.
Thompson’s character references Kanye’s infamous remarks about President George W. Bush during Hurricane Katrina and his antisemitic comments, adding further discomfort to the scene. In a shocking line, he says:
“I’m in the KKK now.”
As the elevator ride becomes more intense, Myers suggests a quirky way to diffuse the tension:
“Let’s jump up and down!”
West’s character flatly declines:
“No man, I don’t like doing crazy stuff.”
When Myers confesses to feeling claustrophobic, West responds:
“Oh, trust me, I understand. I’m a few phobics myself.”
The sketch was one of the highlights of the SNL Season 50 finale, and Myers’ cameo marked his fourth guest appearance on the show this season, following his earlier impersonations of Elon Musk.
