Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India]: The Mumbai Indians (MI) surged to the top of the IPL 2025 points table after registering their sixth consecutive victory, defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a commanding 100-run margin at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

This win marks MI’s longest winning streak in IPL history, equalling similar runs in 2008 and 2017. After a shaky start to the season, losing four of their first five matches, the five-time champions have found rhythm and consistency to return to winning ways.

Bowling Excellence and Record Milestones
Trent Boult and Karn Sharma starred with the ball, each taking three wickets, dismantling RR’s chase and sealing a clinical win for the visitors.
Rohit Sharma Crosses 6000 T20 Runs for MI
Adding to the historic night, MI skipper Rohit Sharma became only the second player in T20 history to score over 6000 runs for a single franchise. Rohit reached 6024 runs in 231 matches for MI, trailing only Virat Kohli, who leads with 8871 runs for RCB.
Rohit remains the all-time leading run-scorer for MI and one of the most prolific batsmen in the history of the IPL.
Implications for the Season
With this win, MI now lead the IPL 2025 points table—a position they last held on April 17, 2021. For Rajasthan Royals, the loss is their second-heaviest defeat in IPL history, after their 112-run loss to RCB in 2023.
