It has been officially confirmed that Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi will visit India in December 2025. The Inter Miami star’s visit, dubbed the “GOAT Tour of India 2025,” will begin in Kolkata on December 12, with subsequent stops in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
During his trip, Messi will also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on December 15. This will be Messi’s first visit to India since 2011, when he played a friendly match in Kolkata with the Argentine national team against Venezuela.
The event’s promoter, Satadru Dutta, confirmed the visit to PTI, stating that he received official authorization. Dutta, who met with Messi and his father earlier this year, said that Messi was “convinced it was worth it and committed to coming.”
While unconfirmed, there are reports that Messi may travel with some of his Inter Miami teammates, including Rodrigo De Paul, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets.
The tour will feature several events, starting with a meet-and-greet in Kolkata on December 13. During his time in the city, Messi will be treated to a fusion of Argentine and Indian Assam tea, as well as a food festival featuring Bengali delicacies like hilsa and various sweets.
Additionally, a large mural of Messi (25 feet tall and 20 feet wide) will be unveiled during the upcoming Durga Puja festival. Fans will be able to post messages on the mural, which will then be presented to Messi during the “GOAT Concert.”
