Rapper Meek Mill Faces Backlash For Seeking ‘Promo’ Like D4vd Amid Teen Death Investigation

Rapper Meek Mill is getting a lot of bad press for making a comment about the strong media attention on singer D4vd (David Anthony Burke) after a death inquiry that was poorly timed and seemed callous. The controversy started when the death of 17-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found in a car owned by the 20-year-old musician.

Meek Mill’s Post That Caused a Stir

The rapper, whose actual name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, talked about how much attention D4vd was getting on his Instagram Story, which he eventually deleted. The message was a screenshot of an article on D4vd’s legal moves, such as transferring the deeds for his Texas residences to his mother’s name in September.

Meek Mill, 38, wrote a comment above the article that many people thought made light of a possible tragedy:

“I need his help to promote my album.” Who should I call?

The property deeds were transferred in the same month as big events in the case, such as a swatting incident at one of D4vd’s Texas homes on September 18, when someone falsely reported a shooting and a dead woman. On September 22, the second property deed was given to someone else.

The D4vd Investigation’s Background

The inquiry into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez is the main reason why the media is paying so much attention.

On September 8, one day after what would have been her 15th birthday, Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found dead in a condition of decomposition inside a car that had been impounded and belonged to D4vd. She had been missing since 2024.

Official Status: There are a lot of conspiracy theories trying to connect D4vd with the dead youngster, but law enforcement has made it clear that D4vd is not a suspect at this time.

Details of the Investigation: The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet figured out how or why Ms. Rivas Hernandez died. The LAPD has said that this makes it hard to tell if there is any “criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.”

The Public Reaction

Meek Mill’s comments caused a lot of anger on social media right after, with many people saying they were shocked and disappointed that the rapper didn’t seem to care about a case involving a dead youth.

Screenshots of the deleted Instagram Story soon spread on X (previously Twitter). One person said that the rapper’s judgment was bad by saying, “Meek Mill’s eyes have never lied.” He isn’t all the way there. Someone else said, “Meek Mill and Fivio Foreign share the same brain,” which meant that they weren’t thinking critically. You can always tell when one of them doesn’t have access to the shared brain that day.

The investigation’s results have already hurt D4vd’s career: he has cancelled his tour and put off the publication of the enhanced edition of his record Withered, which was supposed to come out on September 19. His crew has always said that the artist is working with the police. Meek Mill’s choice to compare the sad, high-profile probe to good record marketing just made people feel worse.
