The show, led by ER alum Noah Wyle, was renewed in February—just one month after its premiere—thanks to its powerful storytelling and widespread critical acclaim. The Pitt explores the emotional and physical toll faced by frontline healthcare workers in modern-day America, told through the lens of a 15-hour hospital shift.
Season 1 featured 15 episodes, each capturing one hour of a continuous shift. Alongside Wyle, the cast includes Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, and Shabana Azeez.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill (NCIS: Los Angeles) and produced by John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, the series has been praised for its gritty realism and emotionally resonant portrayal of ER life. Noah Wyle also serves as an executive producer.
Season 2 of The Pitt is slated for release in January 2026.
