Mayawati Alleges Conspiracy By Ruling And Opposition Parties to Weaken BSP, Reappoints Nephew Akash Anand

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 5: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has accused both the ruling and opposition parties of conspiring against her party by propping up alternative outfits and influencing Dalits and other marginalized communities to divide votes.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Mayawati claimed, “Casteist parties in power and in opposition have created new parties from behind the scenes, manipulating selfish and opportunistic individuals from Dalit and backward communities to mislead them and divide their support.”

She emphasized that such tactics are specifically deployed in regions like Uttar Pradesh where the BSP has a strong support base. “These parties are using every trick to misguide Dalits and weaken the BSP’s influence,” she stated.

Mayawati further reiterated that the BSP is the only political party truly following the path laid out by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram, the party’s founder. “These rival organisations have no real commitment to Ambedkar’s mission. They simply fear BSP’s growth and want to hinder its progress,” she said.

Expressing concerns over the electoral process, Mayawati also alleged tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), claiming that BSP candidates are being deliberately defeated. “EVMs are being rigged. Many parties now demand a return to ballot papers. But no changes will happen while the current ruling party remains in power,” she asserted.

In a significant internal development, Mayawati has reinstated her nephew Akash Anand as the Chief National Coordinator of the BSP. After previously expelling him from the post, she announced his return during a national-level meeting held on Sunday at the party’s central office in Delhi.

Top leaders, state representatives, and coordinators from across the country were present as it was decided that Akash Anand will now take charge of the party’s campaign for the upcoming elections. “It is expected that Akash will work more responsibly this time, strengthening the ideological core of the BSP,” read the party’s official statement.
