Washington [US] : Matthew Modine, famed for portraying Dr. Martin Brenner in Netflix’s smash-hit series Stranger Things, recently reflected on his first meeting with co-star Millie Bobby Brown, who was just 11 years old at the time.
In an interview with People magazine, Modine shared fond memories from 2015, describing young Millie as “magical, professional, mature, and a child all at once.” He admitted he was immediately struck by her natural talent and presence, recalling, “Wow, this little girl’s got it.”
Now 21, Brown has since risen to international fame through her iconic role as Eleven. Modine praised her unwavering focus, determination, and intelligence, noting how their on-screen connection blossomed into a real-life friendship.
Highlighting the depth of their bond, Modine even officiated Brown’s wedding to Jake Bongiovi in May 2024, a role that reflects their strong off-camera relationship.
Additionally, Modine shared his excitement about the new Stranger Things stage show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which serves as a prequel to the TV series. Featuring a younger version of his character, Dr. Brenner, the play promises a thrilling experience packed with “bigger, more frightening” moments and plenty of jump scares.
