Washington [US], March 6: The Monsterverse is about to get even more thrilling! Matthew Modine, known for his breakout role as Dr. Brenner in Netflix’s Stranger Things, has officially joined the cast of Legendary’s upcoming installment in the Godzilla-King Kong franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Modine has secured a deal to appear in the highly anticipated movie, where he will portray a general. The film, which is set to begin shooting in Australia this April, will bring together a star-studded ensemble cast.
Alongside Modine, the movie will feature newcomers Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, and Delroy Lindo. Dan Stevens will reprise his fan-favorite role as Trapper, the laid-back monster veterinarian and dentist.
While the plot remains under wraps, Legendary has revealed that the story will introduce new human characters who will share the screen with iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong. Together, the Titans will confront a cataclysmic, world-ending threat, offering an action-packed spectacle for fans.
Modine’s addition comes as part of a series of high-profile projects in his career resurgence. The actor is currently seen opposite Robert De Niro in the Netflix series Zero Day, and he has several upcoming roles, including The Better Sister with Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel, and The Protector alongside Milla Jovovich.
