Washington, D.C. [US], March 27: Marvel has officially revealed the cast of Avengers: Doomsday during a highly anticipated livestream on YouTube and its social media channels. Among the biggest announcements, Little Women star Florence Pugh has been confirmed as part of the ensemble.
The film, set for release in 2026, is one of the most awaited Marvel projects. Pugh’s inclusion was widely expected, given her upcoming role in Thunderbolts, which is slated to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
Returning Marvel favorites include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.
New faces joining the Avengers roster include Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, according to Variety. Additionally, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Tenoch Huerta Mejia is confirmed to appear, though his role remains undisclosed.
Perhaps the most shocking reveal is Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU—not as Iron Man, but as the infamous villain Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom. The actor first hinted at his involvement during San Diego Comic-Con last July, where he teased fans with the phrase, “New mask, same task.”
Avengers: Doomsday will mark the team’s first major return to the big screen since the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), which saw the departure of key heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
