Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Jangpura constituency, Manish Sisodia, expressed confidence in his party’s success ahead of the election results. He emphasized that AAP still has a lot more work to do for the development of Delhi.
Acknowledging the natural anxiety surrounding the results, Sisodia stated:
“We are confident that the (AAP) government will be formed. We have to do a lot more work for Delhi and the education of the children,” he told media.
Addressing reporters, he added, “Everyone has anxiety on result day. We are human too, but we have this faith that we are going to form the government as we have worked under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.”
Sisodia asserted that AAP would secure a “huge majority,” crediting the support of the people for what he described as “politics of honesty and work.”
“People have voted for the politics of honesty and work. We are going to form a government with a huge majority. The people have given their verdict, which will be declared just after a few hours,” he said.
The Jangpura assembly constituency is witnessing a three-way contest between AAP’s Manish Sisodia, Congress’ Farhad Suri, and BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah.
As the vote counting progresses, AAP is striving for a third consecutive term, while the BJP is making a determined push to return to power in Delhi after more than two decades. The Congress, which ruled the capital for 15 consecutive years, has suffered setbacks in the last two elections, failing to win any seats.
The BJP’s campaign, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focused on attacking Kejriwal over alleged mismanagement of Yamuna water quality and corruption. Meanwhile, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held rallies, accusing AAP of “damaging” Delhi’s infrastructure.
With the results expected soon, all eyes are on the key battlegrounds, including Jangpura, where the contest remains intense.
