The President of India has appointed Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to discharge the functions of the Governor of Nagaland in addition to his own duties. A communique from the President’s office confirmed the appointment on Saturday.
The position became vacant following the death of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on Friday. The 80-year-old governor had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.
