Los Angeles (California) [US], March 27: Actress Mandy Moore, whose home was destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year, is now focusing on rebuilding her lost property. In a recent Instagram story, Moore shared a post from her interior designer, Sarah Sherman Samuel, showcasing photographs of the guest house kitchen that was once part of her home.
According to People, Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, had been renovating their property when the fire struck. The kitchen had just been completed in December 2024, as noted in a post by designer Emily Farnham. In re-sharing the post, Moore expressed her longing for the space, writing, “I miss this space and our home and Altadena immensely so I’m looking forward to rebuilding version 2.0.”
The images featured the redesigned kitchen with modern beaded cabinets from Samuel’s Semihandmade line, along with vintage tables and stools.
Earlier this year, Moore, who is known for her role in This Is Us, faced heartbreaking loss due to the Eaton Fire, located about 30 miles east of the Pacific Palisades Fire. The actress shared her devastation on social media, initially revealing that she had evacuated with her family—”kids, dogs, and cats”—and was safe. “Praying and grateful for the first responders,” she wrote at the time.
She later updated her followers with a message expressing gratitude for the kindness of friends and her temporary shelter. However, she also shared her immense sadness over the destruction in her community, uncertain if her home had survived. “I’m devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb,” she wrote, sharing a video of the widespread destruction in her neighborhood.
Moore continued to express her heartbreak as she revealed that her children’s school and favorite restaurants had been destroyed, along with the homes of many friends. Despite the immense loss, she emphasized the strength of the community, stating, “Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together.”
Mandy Moore’s story is one of many, as several other celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, and Ricki Lake, also lost their homes in the wildfires.
