Iranian actress Mandana Karimi, who has lived and worked in India for several years, has revealed that she is planning to leave the country and hopes to eventually move back to Iran following the reported death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Mandana shared her emotional state, saying she feels disconnected and unheard. “The moment they announce that this regime is gone, I will go. Anyway, my bags are packed, and I am leaving India as well. That is the plan because I feel I am breaking up with India,” she said.
The actress, who rose to fame after participating in Bigg Boss, acknowledged that India played a crucial role in shaping her career. She credited the country for giving her opportunities in modelling and acting, as well as meaningful friendships. However, she admitted feeling increasingly isolated over the past few months.
“I have never felt so homesick and lonely in Bombay. I have a lot of friends here, but I went to protests and spoke openly about Iran. I lost a lot of ‘so-called’ friends,” she said, adding that she feels “betrayed” and believes it may be time to move on.
Mandana’s social media accounts have recently featured several posts and videos addressing the situation in Iran and urging global support. Her candid remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting her honesty and others questioning her decision.
As geopolitical tensions continue to unfold, Mandana’s statement reflects the personal impact such events can have on individuals living far from their homeland.
