Man Slapped On IndiGo flight After ‘Panic Attack’ Goes Missing

Reports say that Hossain Ahmed Mazumdar, a gym trainer from Mumbai, has gone missing after a scary event on an IndiGo aircraft from Mumbai to Kolkata. A co-passenger smacked Mazumdar, who was reportedly having a panic attack in the middle of the trip. The attack was caught on tape and went viral. His family is now frantically looking for him because he never made it to his connecting flight to Silchar.

Family in Pain and Looking for Answers
A Times of India article says that Hossain Ahmed Mazumdar was on his way home to Katigorah from Kolkata when he took a connecting aircraft to Silchar. But his family, who were nervously waiting at Silchar airport, was upset when he didn’t show up. His phone is still out of reach, and people think he left it in Mumbai.

A relative named Zubairul Islam Mazumdar said he was really upset about not having any information. “When we didn’t find him on the Silchar flight, we called the police and even went to the Udharband police station near the Silchar airport,” he said. The family says that the police haven’t given them any solid information regarding where Hossain is. His father is said to be fighting cancer, so this is really hard for him.

“He was working hard in Mumbai to assist us and was on his way back home. “I saw the video this morning, and now I don’t know where my son is,” the relative said, showing how upset the family was.

What Happened on the IndiGo Flight During the Mid-Air Incident
The sad event happened on the IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata. Reports say that Hossain Ahmed Mazumdar had a panic attack while flying and needed help from the cabin crew. At this weak point, another passenger suddenly hit him without any reason.

The attack was caught on tape and has since been shared widely online, causing anger. The footage shows IndiGo flight staff taking Hossain to his seat, where he looks quite upset and worried. The crew and other passengers were surprised when a fellow passenger suddenly slapped them. They all protested right away.

Calls for an investigation into Whereabouts Unknown
Hossain’s family is desperately asking for a clear investigation because they don’t know where he is. They are asking for the release of any CCTV camera footage or information that could help them find out where he went once he landed in Kolkata.

IndiGo’s Response to the Fight
IndiGo said in an official statement on X (previously Twitter) that they were aware of the event: “We are aware of an incident involving a physical altercation on board one of our flights.” We firmly condemn any activities that put the safety and dignity of our passengers and crew at risk. Such behavior is entirely unacceptable.

The airline further said, “Our crew followed the Standard Operating Procedures that were already in place.” The person in question was found to be disorderly and was turned over to the security forces when they arrived. All necessary regulatory agencies have been duly informed, in line with protocol. We are still dedicated to keeping all of our flights safe and respectful.

What do you think the government should do first to find Hossain Ahmed Mazumdar and make sure that these kinds of things are fully looked into?
