Mamata Banerjee to Lead Statewide Campaign, Aides to Handle Bhabanipur

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will spearhead the election campaign for the All India Trinamool Congress across the state, while relying on senior party leaders to manage campaigning in her own constituency, Bhabanipur.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari against Banerjee in the high-profile contest scheduled for April 29.

Banerjee is set to travel extensively across districts such as Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Bankura, Purulia, Burdwan, and West Midnapore as she leads the party’s campaign alongside Abhishek Banerjee.

In her absence from Bhabanipur, senior leaders including Firhad Hakim and other party veterans will coordinate grassroots outreach and campaigning efforts. Party leaders remain confident of a strong victory, citing Banerjee’s long-standing support base in the constituency.

Bhabanipur has been a stronghold for Banerjee since 2011, and the upcoming contest is expected to draw significant political attention amid a direct face-off with Adhikari.
