“Does Taking A Dip In Ganga Alleviate Poverty?”: Mallikarjun Kharge Slams BJP At Rally In Mhow

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India]: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for their participation in the holy dip during the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Taking a jab at the BJP, Kharge remarked, “On one hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi salutes the Constitution, and on the other, he does everything against it… Don’t be fooled by Narendra Modi’s false promises.”

Kharge further questioned, “Does taking a dip in Ganga alleviate poverty?… When children are dying of hunger, these people spend thousands of rupees on taking dips in the Ganga and competing with each other… Such people cannot do any good for the country.”

The Congress party organized a massive rally titled ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ at the birthplace of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in Mhow, where prominent Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, were present.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and several saints, including Baba Ramdev, participated in the Maha Kumbh by taking a dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. Before the dip, Shah and Yogi interacted with saints and seers at the event.

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and other leaders have also visited Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh festivities. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet held a meeting in Prayagraj and took a dip at the Triveni Sangam.

The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years, is expected to draw millions of devotees to Prayagraj between January 13 and February 26, 2025.
