Maharashtra Polls Showed ‘Ek Hain To Safe Hain’, ‘Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai’: Chief Minister-Elect Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 4: Devendra Fadnavis, elected to lead the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party, on Wednesday described the recent Assembly polls as “historic” and highlighted key campaign slogans of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including “Ek Hain to Safe Hain” and “Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai.”

Fadnavis is set to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on December 5 at 5:30 PM, in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, according to an official invitation for the ceremony.

Speaking at the BJP legislative party meeting, Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to all the leaders and MLAs for unanimously choosing him as the party leader. He also thanked caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, and NDA leader Ramdas Athawle for their support.

“I am thankful to everyone in the legislative party for unanimously selecting me. I also thank our central observers, Rupani ji and Nirmala ji. These elections were historic, and they have proven that ‘Ek Hain to Safe Hain’ and ‘Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai’. We have resumed our winning streak, starting with Haryana and now Maharashtra, which has given us a remarkable mandate. I humbly bow to the people of Maharashtra. I also thank CM Eknath Shinde ji, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Athawle ji, and our other allies. Our constitution, crafted by Baba Saheb Ambedkar, is now celebrating its 75th year,” he said.

Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani were present as central observers during the meeting.

Fadnavis also took pride in the fact that no BJP MLA has left the party since 2019, and all remained united to form the government in 2022. “We are proud that not a single MLA left us after 2019. We remained united and formed the government in 2022. Now, the Mahayuti alliance has received a historic mandate. PM Modi has served as Prime Minister for three consecutive terms, and I started as a ward-level leader and am now serving as Chief Minister for the third time,” he added.

The BJP leader thanked Prime Minister Modi for his continued support, vowing that the upcoming government would strive to meet the expectations of Maharashtra’s citizens. “There will be some things that please everyone and others that may not, but we must work in the larger interest of the state and the nation. We will try to fulfill all the expectations of Maharashtra,” Fadnavis concluded.

Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are in full swing, which will mark the beginning of the new Mahayuti government following its landslide victory in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections. The BJP-led alliance secured 235 seats, with the BJP emerging as the largest party with 132 seats. The Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party made significant gains, winning 57 and 41 seats, respectively.
