Maha Kumbh 2025: Over 55.56 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip At Triveni Sangam

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): Devotees continue to arrive in large numbers at Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh Teerth Kshetra to take a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam.

As of Wednesday, 8 AM, more than 3.09 million (30.94 lakh) devotees had taken the holy dip, pushing the total count past 555.6 million (55.56 crore), according to the Uttar Pradesh Information Department.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, recognized as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025) and will conclude on February 26.

Prominent Figures Join the Holy Dip

Several notable leaders and personalities have participated in the sacred ritual, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with other Union Ministers, leaders, and celebrities.

Earlier this week, former ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath attended the Maha Kumbh with his family, taking a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. Reflecting on the experience, he wrote on social media:

“Maha Kumbh was experienced as humanity’s search for the connection to the universe and the ‘Amrut’, the nectar of life. I had a blissful snan at the Triveni Sangam in the company of Sadhus.”

Dr. Somnath described the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of humanity’s spiritual quest, emphasizing its deep connection to the universe and divine energy.

Yogi Adityanath Highlights Transformative Growth

On Monday, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath praised the remarkable transformation in the state, citing Prayagraj, Kashi, and Ayodhya as symbols of India’s spiritual and economic resurgence. He credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for restoring India’s global faith and respect.

He further stated that devotee footfall in Ayodhya has surged from 2.35 lakh in 2016-17 to over 14-15 crore in 2024, showcasing not only spiritual devotion but also regional economic growth.

Pilgrims Head to Kashi Vishwanath & Ayodhya

After taking a holy dip in Prayagraj, a large influx of devotees is now heading to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and Ayodhya for darshan, marking the spiritual significance of these sacred cities in Hinduism.

With millions continuing to arrive, Maha Kumbh 2025 stands as a testament to India’s deep-rooted faith, cultural heritage, and devotion.
