Magh Purnima Snan Witnesses ‘Pushp Varsha’ At Triveni Sangam During Maha Kumbh 2025

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): Devotees and ascetics taking a holy dip at Triveni Sangam on the auspicious occasion of Magh Purnima were greeted with a spectacular ‘Pushp Varsha’, or showering of flower petals, during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.

Visuals from the sacred confluence showed a vast sea of pilgrims gathered at this meeting point of spirituality and culture. According to official data, over 48.83 million devotees have participated in the holy dip so far. The total footfall at the Mela grounds has reached 38.83 million, while the number of Kalpwasis (those who undertake month-long spiritual vows at the Kumbh) has crossed 10 million.

Officials confirmed that the cumulative number of devotees performing snan (holy bath) since the beginning of Maha Kumbh 2025 has now exceeded 462.5 million as of February 11. With more auspicious bathing dates approaching, the number is expected to rise further.

Applauding the arrangements, Monika, a devotee, shared her experience.
“We have come here for the snan on Magh Purnima. The government has made really good arrangements. We are having a really nice experience,” she told ANI.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath closely monitored the Magh Purnima snan from his office. Taking to social media platform X, he extended his heartfelt wishes to devotees and residents of the state.

“Hearty congratulations to all the devotees and residents of the state on the holy bathing festival Magh Purnima! Heartiest greetings to all the revered saints, religious leaders, Kalpvasis, and devotees who have come for a holy bath in the sacred Triveni in Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj today! May everyone’s life be filled with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune by the grace of Lord Shri Hari. May Mother Ganga, Mother Yamuna, and Mother Saraswati fulfill everyone’s wishes, this is my wish,” CM Yogi wrote.

Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, drawing millions of devotees from across the globe. The grand event will continue till Mahashivratri on February 26, 2025.
