Madhya Pradesh: Two Women Naxals Killed In Encounter with Hawk Force

Mandla (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 2: In a significant anti-Naxal operation, two women Naxals, each carrying a bounty of ₹14 lakh, were killed in an encounter with the Hawk Force in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla district on Wednesday morning, officials confirmed.

Encounter Details

The faceoff occurred in a dense forest under the jurisdiction of the Bichhiya police station. Security forces recovered a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), another firearm, a wireless set, and various other items from the slain Naxals.

Confirming the encounter, Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) posted on X:

“Two women Naxals were killed in an encounter with police (Hawk Force) under Bichhiya police station of Mandla district on Wednesday morning. One SLR rifle, one rifle, wireless set, and other daily-use items were recovered from their possession. Further search is underway.”

CM Mohan Yadav Praises Security Forces

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated the security personnel for their successful operation, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to eliminate Naxal presence in the state.

“With the vigilance of the police, two women Naxals, each carrying a ₹14 lakh reward, were neutralized in Mandla district. Our police force is actively engaged in anti-Naxal operations under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The recovery of weapons further strengthens our mission to eradicate Naxalism from the state,” CM Yadav stated.

Highlighting past successes, he added:

“In the last year, over ten Naxals have been killed in various encounters. I extend my congratulations to our brave police personnel. Notably, none of our officers suffered any casualties in this operation.”

A Step Towards a Naxal-Free India

The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism, aligning with the national objective to make India Naxal-free by March 2026.

“This success will certainly accelerate our resolve to free the nation from Naxalism under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The country and Madhya Pradesh will be completely free from terrorism and Naxalism soon,” Yadav wrote on X.

The operation marks another major victory for security forces in their battle against left-wing extremism in central India. Further search and combing operations are underway in the region.
