Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 4 : Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday transferred laptop grants worth ₹235.58 crore to the bank accounts of 94,234 students who scored 75% or more in the Class 12 board exams conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) for the academic session 2024–25.
The financial aid—₹25,000 per student—is provided under the ‘Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana’, a flagship scheme of the School Education Department, aimed at encouraging academic excellence. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre in Bhopal.
“This initiative covers both government and private school students who achieved 75% or above. I’m proud to say that this is part of a continuous push for student welfare,” CM Yadav told reporters.
He highlighted that since the launch of the scheme in 2009-10, more than 4.32 lakh students have benefited, with a cumulative disbursement of over ₹1,080 crore.
In addition to laptops, the Madhya Pradesh government is also providing scooties to school toppers, bicycles to students entering Classes 6 and 9, and free uniforms and textbooks. The government has further pledged to cover higher education fees for deserving students.
The Chief Minister noted that the state’s efforts in education, including the success of Sandipani School and the expansion of medical colleges and university campuses, are part of a larger strategy to transform Madhya Pradesh into a hub for quality education.
“Our goal is to make our children educated, skilled, and successful. A revolution in education is underway, and Madhya Pradesh will continue to grow under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister,” he said.
In the 2023–24 academic year, a similar disbursement of ₹224.27 crore was made to 89,710 meritorious students.
