Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], March 17: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has called on district collectors and public representatives to set up fresh drinking water stations and shaded areas in their regions to ensure easy access to drinking water and provide relief from the summer heat for residents.
In a statement, CM Yadav emphasized the importance of these measures in alleviating the discomfort caused by the high temperatures. He also mentioned that he would soon hold a meeting with district collectors to discuss the execution of these plans.
“I request all district Collectors, Chairman of the District Panchayat, Mayor, and local public representatives to install drinking water stations and shaded areas in their respective wards in the coming days. I will soon hold a meeting with all district Collectors on this. We all should save water, and it should be used for drinking and other purposes,” CM Yadav said on Monday.
In addition to discussing measures for the summer season, CM Yadav also highlighted a significant development related to the state’s wildlife conservation efforts. He announced that a female cheetah, named Gamini, along with her four cubs, would be released into the wild at Kuno National Park in Sheopur district, marking a milestone for the Cheetah Project.
“Today is a remarkable day for the forest department and the Cheetah project. A female Cheetah Gamini and its cubs will be released into the wild and will wander on the land of Madhya Pradesh. It is a matter of good fortune for us that Kuno National Park in Sheopur was selected for the reintroduction of Cheetah. Our Forest department has done remarkable work. This will increase tourism as well as the economy,” CM Yadav stated.
On Sunday, CM Yadav shared on X that the female cheetah Gamini, along with her two male and two female cubs, would be released in the Khajuri tourism zone of Kuno Park. This initiative is expected to attract more tourists to the region, providing a chance for them to witness cheetahs in their natural habitat during safaris.
“The release of Gamini, a female cheetah from South Africa, along with her cubs in Kuno National Park will boost tourism in the region,” CM Yadav wrote on X. He also noted that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to advancing wildlife conservation and tourism.
