Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India] : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday announced a 3 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for all state government employees. The revised DA will be effective from July 1, 2024, to January 1, 2025.
Earlier in the day, in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, CM Yadav held a high-level meeting with state police officials to review and accelerate efforts to identify and expel Pakistani nationals residing in Madhya Pradesh without long-term or official visas, as directed by the Centre.
“In accordance with the directions given by Honourable Prime Minister and respected Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, we have made preparations to expel those Pakistani visa holders who are not on valid long-term or official visas,” said Yadav during the meeting.
He further stressed that after April 27, action would be initiated to remove these individuals from the state, adhering strictly to the Centre’s guidelines.
The meeting comes amidst broader national measures against Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack, including India suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the Attari integrated check post, and cancelling visas issued under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES).
Additionally, India has declared Pakistan’s Defence, Naval, and Air Advisors posted in New Delhi as Persona Non Grata, ordering them to leave within a week. India will also withdraw its corresponding advisors from Islamabad, effectively annulling these posts, along with five support staff members.
